TG tubular bandages, also known as TG stockinettes, are seamless, elastic bandages that can be easily pulled over an affected area of the body, without the need for clips or fasteners. Due to their elasticity, TG tubular bandages conform well and provide a snug fit, without restricting your movement.
TG tubular bandages are made from cotton and elastane (a synthetic fiber known for its exceptional elasticity). Elastane can stretch up to 5-8 times its original size and return to its original size, without losing form.
TG tubular bandages have many appealing features. They are:
Because of their elasticity and light compression, TG tubular bandages are often used as the first layer in lymphedema and edema wrapping and bandaging. The tubular bandages are also used to secure wound dressings and to support sprains and strains.
TG tubular bandages provide compression through their elasticity, which allows the bandage to stretch and conform snugly. Because of their seamless, tubular design, TG bandages distribute compression evenly across the covered area.
TG tubular bandages are easy to apply. You simply roll the bandage over the affected area. No clips, fasteners, or adhesives are required.
TG tubular bandages are used to secure a dressing in place over a wound. They and are not applied directly to open wounds.
TG tubular bandages are NOT waterproof. Made from breathable, absorbent materials, the bandages are designed to allow airflow, but they do not repel water. If TG tubular bandages become wet, they will absorb moisture, which can lead to skin irritation and discomfort.
TG tubular bandages are reusable, but after repeated use and washing, they can lose some of their elastic stretch (which reduces their effectiveness). It is important to replace the bandages if they show signs of wear and fraying, or if they lose elasticity.
You can machine wash TG tubular bandages (on a gentle cycle, with a mild detergent). Dry the bandages on a flat surface or hang them up to dry. Never wring out the bandages, because that can stretch the fibers.
Latex-free, TG tubular bandages are soft and breathable, which makes them suitable for most types of sensitive skin.
TG tubular bandages are manufactured by Lohmann & Rauscher (L&R), a global company that is known for its high-quality products, including bandages, dressings, and compression products.
